The project is located in the Aurora Goldfields mining district in the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, South America, approximately 170 kilometres west of the capital city of Georgetown. The project plan is to build 300MW/600MWh energy storage power station and 15MWp photovoltaic power station, 25.2MW(14×1.8MW) diesel power generation. The photovoltaic station area and energy storage station area are connected to the switching station of the photovoltaic and storage system by 13.8kV collector lines, and a new 13.8kV transmission line is built to connect to the 13.8kV bus section of the switching station near the mine, and form a microgrid system with the diesel power generation station and loads of the mine, the project has been put into operation in August 2024. The equipment of this project can realise applications such as optical storage fusion, energy transfer, virtual inertia, reactive power support, black start, etc. After the completion of the project, it will greatly alleviate the electricity cost of local mining enterprises, help mining enterprises to rapidly expand their production capacity, and at the same time improve the stability of electricity consumption of mining enterprises, which will provide a strong support for enhancing the economic benefits of mining enterprises and boosting the development of local industrial economy.
